Project Experience
Zheng Mao, Zhenjiang Anchor Chain Factory Ltd, is accredited by both API and
CSQA with a Quality System in accordance with ISO 9001:2000. It has full
traceability of all materials from raw materials through to all products in
application.
 The Zheng Mao product range includes stud link and studless chains from 14mm
to 152mm diameter for all offshore applications. The products have Type
Approval Certification from all major Classification Societies up to 152mm
dia in Grade 4 material.
 The manufacturing facility includes 9 chain making machines, 5 continuous
heat treatment plants and 3 linear test benches with calibration up to
20,000 kN. Production capacity is currently 50,000 tonnes per annum, with
the potential to increase this in line with customer demand.
Recent project successes include the supply of approximately 1,400 tonnes x
5.3/4² (147mm) dia Grade RQ4 Studless Mooring Chain for the DEVILS TOWER
SPAR, a combined spiral strand wire rope and chain mooring system, the
deepest in the Gulf of Mexico so far. An important factor of this project
was our ability to liaise closely not only with the client¹s project team,
but also our fellow equipment suppliers to ensure correct interface with
components such as shackles, wire rope sockets and chain jack/fairlead
systems. The project also required split and staggered deliveries, to 3
different locations, to coincide with
the overall project schedule.
 All chains and fittings were certified by ABS, in addition to which, we
established a very close relationship with the client¹s in-house inspectors,
who had full and unrestricted access to all aspects of the manufacturing
facility in relation to this project.
We understand the need to consider the overall picture, rather than merely
our own scope of supply in isolation and we consider the relationship we
develop with our client to be a partnership, where we have the same goals
and aspirations as far as the successful and smooth running of the contract
is concerned.
 The Devils Tower Project also heralded the relocation of the 20,000 kN
capacity test machine to facilitate proof testing of continuous lengths of
large diameter chain adjacent to the fabrication carousel.
We have supplied a number of CALM BUOY MOORING SYSTEMS to the likes of
BLUEWATER, FMC SOFEC, SBM/SBM-IMODCO and LARSEN & TOUBRO for projects in all
corners of the globe. Each project has specification requirements and
technical or commercial idiosyncrasies making them unique and we understand
that flexibility is key in the working relationship we develop with our
clients.
 We also manufacture and supply FSO/FPSO MOORING SYSTEMS of all
configurations: spread-moored, such as FPSO Mystras for Agip, Nigeria, via
JV between SBM Monaco & Saipem called FMPP; internal and external turrets
such as FPSO MISC for Pertamina offshore Malaysia and FSO Yoho for
ExxonMobil installed offshore Nigeria, both via SBM-Imodco in Houston.
 Zheng Mao have supplied stud link chain for numerous Semi-Submersible Rigs,
including a requirement for over 3,000 tonnes of 76mm dia Grade R3S for GVA
design unit built for Maersk Caspian Sea. All chains for this type of
application are subjected to rigorous inspection processes to ensure smooth
running over wildcats and fairleads as well as the highest specifications
for stud welding procedures to maximize the chain life.
 We understand that logistics play an important role in the successful
completion of a project and it is important that all components are supplied
in the right place, at the right time and in the right condition. This means
that we place great emphasis on the packing, handling and shipping of our
chains, using only highly qualified sub-contractors with dedicated personnel
at all times while the chain is in transit.
 A dedication to quality and commitment to exceeding client aspirations are
uppermost in the Zheng Mao philosophy when tackling any order. All members
of the organization are made aware of the importance of meeting each and
every specification requirement and project milestone, from the chemistry
and mechanical properties of the raw material to the on-site
delivery date.
A Project Management Team, lead by highly qualified and experienced OIL
personnel, is established to make the key decisions in processing the order
with clear lines of responsibility and communication, both internally and in
relation to all relevant external organizations.
Following significant investment in the infrastructure of Zheng Mao from
CSSC, being the flagship of the Chinese Maritime Industry, any decision in

existing track record and growing reputation in the offshore marketplace.
