SPM Successes – Offspring International moves to New Moorings
Winning an increasing share of the SPM market and deepwater projects has prompted Offspring International to move to new office closer to Birmingham Airport and the UK national motorway network.
“2010 was a good year for Offspring International with a significant increase in hawser orders for Lankhorst Ropes. And with 2011 well under way, we’re looking at new ways of enhancing our customer service, technical support and product range,” says Dave Rowley, director, Offspring International (OIL).
The OIL sales team has been strengthened with the appointment of Mike Clarke, formerly with Bridon International, as sales engineer working alongside SPM sales manager Mark Brooks. Mike has considerable experience of ropes and a good deal of technical know-how, and a key part of the drive by Offspring International towards greater technical support and hawser customisation.
Continued SPM Hawser Development
Lankhorst SPM hawsers provide clear technical and in-service performance benefits. Importantly, Lankhorst Ropes continues to invest in single point mooring systems.
A larger rigging shop ensures increased production capacity. The new Lankhorst rope test machine will be used to develop new ropes on accordance with OCIMF 2000 Hawser standards and other international standards. These, together with developments in integral flotation that draw on the buoyancy know-how within the wider Lankhorst organisation, make a compelling case for choosing Lankhorst SPM hawsers.
“We are committed to raising the benchmark for customer service in this industry. We now have the right people and resources to enable us to do this,” says Dave Rowley, Offspring International.
Located in Dudley in the West Midlands, the Offspring International office is part of the Castlegate Business Park and within 5 minutes of the M5 motorway and 30 minutes of Birmingham International Airport.
