New Single Point Mooring Catalogue Now Available!

The latest update to Lankhorst Ropes’ comprehensive Single Point Mooring Catalogue contains some important developments for terminal operators.

A significant new product introduced with this update to the Single Point Mooring Catalogue is Lankhorst TIPTO® rope for use as messenger and pick-up ropes, replacing spunstaple polypropylene rope. “TIPTO is a floating and high visibility, yellow rope with an excellent service life. It’s also stronger than spunstaple polypropylene enabling operators to reduce the rope size whilst retaining break load. Overall TIPTO marks a step change in rope performance in this important area,” says Mark Brooks, SPM sales manager, Offspring International.

Other updates include more data on our SPM hawsers – both Double Braid and GAMA® 98 now have Load v Extension graphs. In addition, the GAMA 98 hawser’s break strength performance has been enhanced providing increased break strength following our OCIMF 2000 prototype testing.

The Integral Flotation section also includes photographs of the rope itself, together with technical details of flotation performance. In line with OCIMF recommendations, additional hawser shackles sizes have been added, and details of the Spherical Marker-Buoy added on the Support Buoys page.

The section on Chafe Chains has been expanded to include a layout sketch of the new Chafe Chains per OCIMF 4th Edition 2007. Together with information on trial fit of kit prior to despatch (with photographs).

The Single Point Mooring Catalogue also includes a Glossary of Terms, taken from the OCIMF Guidelines, 4th Edition – 2007.
