Offspring International has supplied a range of offloading hoses for a tanker conventional buoy mooring (CBM) facility at RAF Akrotiri, Cyprus. This latest order of 16 MAN Oil & Marine submarine hoses for the marine terminal, follows the successful supply of offloading hoses by Offspring International in 2020.
Manufactured and tested according to GMPHOM 2009, MAN Oil & Marine’s submarine dual anti-pollution safety hose features a double carcass. The hose sets the standard for environmental safety with an in-built failure alert device that monitors the integrity of both carcasses. In the unlikely event the primary carcass fails, the secondary carcass contains the leak.
“Environmental integrity is a vital part of our CBM offloading operations. The antipollution submarine hose meets our exacting requirements in this area,” said Doros Elpidorou, Akrotiri M&E Site Manager, Cyprus Services Provider Joint Venture.
Commenting, Mark Brooks, Sales & Marketing Director, Offspring International said, “The robust construction and failure alert device of MAN Oil & Marine’s dual anti-pollution safety hoses makes them a natural fit for the RAF marine terminal. The hoses are available with either steel or textile cord reinforcement and include a number of features designed to ensure each hose provides excellent service life.
Offspring International offers terminal operators the equipment needed to store, handle, operate and monitor the whole offloading system; from hoses for a variety of transfer applications to valves and actuators, including PLEM control, marine breakaway couplings and the Offshore Ops integrated terminal monitoring and management system.”
